DUSA Exec statement on Supreme Court ruling and support for trans students
We are disappointed by the Supreme Court’s ruling that “the terms woman and sex in the Equality Act 2010 refer to a biological woman and biological sex.”
After careful consideration from our Executive and staff teams, we have made the decision to amend our Freshers’ Week events schedule due to the Queen’s State Funeral on Monday 19th September.
We want to maintain a balance between marking the significance of the day, and our responsibility to look after student’s wellbeing and overall experience. We have decided to remain open to provide a space for students to socialise in our cafes and bars. DUSA’s Premier shop will also remain open on Monday from 0800 – 2200.
All our Freshers’ Week events will go ahead as planned, with the exception of Monday 19th. This event has been cancelled. Ticketholders for this event can request a refund through Eventbrite.
