Introduction
Peer-2-Peer Tutoring would be a student-led university organized tutoring scheme. This program aims to assist students struggling in their courses and also equips other students (the tutors) with employable skills, such as teaching and voluntary efforts which would serve as good experience for the CV and future professional endeavours.
General information
There will be two parties involved: the tutors and the tutees. The tutees would have to reach out by filling a form with the academic issues they are facing, essentially which modules they are struggling with. They can only have a maximum of 2 modules per semester. The tutors will be offering a voluntary service but will be incentivized in some form to foster motivation. The tutors would have to pass certain criteria in order to be eligible to render any tutoring services.
The requirements include:
- Good knowledge of the module they would be teaching by actually passing that module satisfactorily
- An informal interview process with general tutoring and interpersonal questions to gauge if they are a fit to be a tutor
Conclusion + Motion
This motion would be able to benefit all students involved and enhance academic achievement and performance if implemented and organized efficiently. The biggest issue that may be encountered is the forthcoming of tutors especially as there wouldn’t be a monetary gain. I am very open to suggestions and modifications on this scheme.
Legacy Timeline
For as long as is sustainable and interest is shown.
