The Vice President of Academia is the lead representative for the academic experience at the University. The remit of this role includes learning and teaching, quality and academic standards, and employability.
The VPA will work closely together with the Vice Principal (Education) and Quality and Academic Standards Officer to ensure students are represented in discussions about the academic experience. They will also work with Professional Services (such as the Library, Academic Skills Centre, Educational Development), and DUSA’s Advice and Support Team, to ensure students are supported.
This role also includes deputising for the President when they are not available, and covering all of their responsibilities during these times.
Finally, like the other members of the Student Executive, the VPA is also a Trustee of DUSA, and works together with the Additional Trustees to ensure an effective and positive impact on DUSA’s governance and strategy.
