Statement on the Palestine – Israel Crisis

18 October 2023

Dear Students,

Your DUSA Executives wish to address a matter of profound concern that has been weighing heavily on our hearts: the ongoing crisis in Palestine and Israel. Recent reports of lives lost have deeply saddened us, resonating throughout our campus communities.

We stand united in our call for an end to the violence, and an appeal to those in positions of power to facilitate much-needed changes.

Unfortunately, we are also aware of a national increase in hate crimes, including racism, antisemitism and Islamophobia. We want to emphasize unequivocally that bullying, harassment, discrimination, and violence have no place in our student spaces, whether they occur in person or online.

Our campus is designed to be a sanctuary for all, a place where everyone can interact with kindness and mutual respect, as is the hallmark of our close-knit community.

DUSA is dedicated to supporting any student affected by this crisis and any kind of hate crime. Dusa is also a 3rd Party reporting site for Hate Crime. More information can be found here. DUSA Supports Reporting of Hate Crime

DUSA has a vision of a kinder, greener, diverse global student community and is here to provide support and assistance to all students. Please do not hesitate to reach out to us if you need help.

Warm regards,
Your DUSA Executive
