DUSA Exec statement on Supreme Court ruling and support for trans students
We are disappointed by the Supreme Court’s ruling that “the terms woman and sex in the Equality Act 2010 refer to a biological woman and biological sex.”
Exams can be a stressful time for students. The pressure to perform well and meet deadlines can take a toll on their mental and physical health. To help our students sail through this phase, the University and DUSA have come up with a whole event programme for the month of May. The activities are planned during the exams keeping in mind the importance of holistic student well-being to help students beat exam stress. In this blog, we will share some of the activities planned at our University campus that students can look forward to during exams.
1.) Global Room Events
Over the next 5 weeks, we encourage students to take time out of their day to participate in events across campus, get away from their study desks or out of their office space and look after their mental and physical well-being. Global Room at the University campus has come up with an Exam Wellbeing Events Programme starting Monday 24 April – Friday 26 May.
The event schedule is here: Global Room Event Schedule
2.) DUSA Art and Craft Sessions
Engaging in creative activities can be a great way to de-stress and express oneself. DUSA Advice and Support team has planned creative workshops such as painting, craft and jewellery making during exams to give students an opportunity to tap into their artistic side and relax. As a part of Wellbeing-Wednesday, we are bringing you arts and crafts sessions all month, providing students with a creative outlet to channel their stress.
3.) The Institute of Sport and Exercise (ISE)
Physical activity is known to release endorphins, which are natural stress busters. ISE has organised sports and recreation activities during exam time to help students unwind and take a break from their studies.
Events also on campus:
We believe that these activities will not only help students manage exam stress but also promote overall well-being, allowing them to perform their best during exams. Remember, it’s important to take care of yourself during exams and prioritize self-care to perform at your best. Good luck with your exams!
